How I Have Found My Way (521 KB)

Sonia Struggia, Italy
“How I Have Found My Way”

I got to know horses about 10 years ago, then it became a passion. I was in Alberta 5 years ago and I happened to read a book of Monty Roberts. A new world opened to me. The following years I was in California learning his method. Then I spent a month with Carolyn Resnick and learnt about her method. I was fascinated, there were so many things in common with what I was teaching to humans about “Communication and Relationship”. So I kept searching and I ended up learning about Pat Parelli methods in Italy and went to the EGEA Conference where I met Gerhard and learn about Ferdinand Hempfling method. Still eager to understand more about horses I attended a workshop with Ariana Strozzi. So many ideas, so difficult to put them in practice... I decided to listen to my horse and learn from him which was the best way for me…

Sonia Struggia, Italian, 40 years old, a degree in Political Science, I have worked as a Sales Manager in a English School and specialized in Selling and Training in the field of Effective Communication, Neuro-linguistic Programming. I work now as a Trainer, Life & Business Coach and run Programs of “Conscious Leadership” with the assistance of my horse Cody.

Starting Up the Seminar Business (52 KB)

Stephan G. Meyer, Germany
“Starting Up the Seminar Business – I Did it
My Way”

After two years of preparation I opened up my horse assisted coaching company in 2005-07. Up to now there were two events for 30 and 80 people booked by a local company, and there is one seminar each month booked with about 10 clients. Actually I reorganised HORSE & SOUL completely to optimise my business profile and the corresponding target group.

My way is to actualise my goals continuously, to find the right partners and to try out what catches my curiosity. I found out that it was easy to reach most of my goals, and that the way they became reality was completely different than I had expected. What really worked was to be honest, consistent, open and watchful – as it is in the work with horses.

Stephan Gerd Meyer is a business- and personal coach. He studied medical education, has worked as natural healer and developed health programmes for individuals and for organisations. Last year he started HORSE & SOUL, a company for human potential empowerment with horses and outdoor adventure.

How Psychobiology can Contribute
Worthwhile Aspects to Leadership

Training
(480 KB)

Dipl. Biol. Karin Rathje, Germany
“How Psychobiology can Contribute Worthwhile Aspects to Leadership Training.”

Psychobiology can contribute worthwhile aspects to leadership training. For example it explains, why certain people are leaders and not group members and what their evolutionary advantage is. Leadership seems to be desirable to everyone, but biology proves that there is no real advantage in it: Leaders have to splash much more energy by permanently keeping an eye on rivals, watching out for natural enemies and up-coming risks. Furthermore, their genes occur substantially less often in relation to the ones of the mass of group members, which usually is an indicator for evolutionary failure. However, leadership as a concept is successfully. How is this possible? The following lecture will bring light into this mystery and other interesting contradictions.

Karin Rathje is a biologist and management trainer who has been working with horses for years. Her approach is to embed natural sciences’ findings and results into horse assisted personal development. In 2005 she founded her company Karin Rathje Consulting & Training -Coaching by Horse-.

The Horse’s Place In Mythology
(Pictures of the presentation, 98 KB)

Fabio Manzetti, Norway/Italy
“The Horse’s Place In Mythology.”

My talk at the conference will focus on the horse’s place in human history and mythology, showing that the horse in basically any culture has had an unparalleled key role promoting the wellness of mankind. For this reason communication between human being and horse offers a wide variety of “uses” that are highly beneficial to the human being – be it a business leader, a student, an unemployed, a patient suffering from physical or mental problems. I will also describe some of the cases I encounter in my practice both in Norway and Italy.

Fabio Adriano Manzetti was born 1949 in Pisa (Italy). He lives in Norway. Education  - Courses in: 1999 – 2002 Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbology - Medboo TCM Training Center, China. 1997 – 1999 Veterinary Acupuncture led by Are S.  Thoresen – Sandefjord, Norway. 1997 – 1998 Horse Massage in Oslo, Norway. 1988 – 1991            Natural Horsemanship in Oslo, Norway. 1975 – 1979 Visiting scholar and Ph. D Candidate – The Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm – Sweden. 1967 – 1971  Dottore in Scienze Economiche (equivalent to M.Sc in Economics) awarded on Dec. 13th, 1971 with full grades (110/110) University of Pisa.

Professional experience: 2002 – Cooperation with the Italian Race Horse Trainer Association to hold presentations of Natural Horsemanship. 2001 – Accredited by the Regional Administration of Østfold and Oslo-Akershus, Norway (N:B: The “Horse Education Line” at high schools in the Østfold region was first introduced in the school year 1999-2000). 1998 - Teacher of Applied Veterinary Acupuncture at various Italian schools. 1820995 - Private practice in Nesoddtangen, Norway. Liberal Ground-Work
With a Client And a Horse
(212 KB)

Susanne E. Schwaiger, Germany
“Liberal Ground-Work With a Client And a Horse”

Coaching without agenda, from moment to moment, including the horse as an all true and aware partner, trusting in the inner wisdom of the client, provides a safe space where destructive conditioned behaviour or emotional patterns can be revealed and transformed. A rediscovery of the natural self: spontaneous, playful, vivid, touching and wild. Liberal ground-work is a way of togetherness of horse and client without means of control or power (like halter, rope or whip) in a square arena of approx. 46 x 46 feet. The issue of the coaching unfolds by itself during the process of relating between client and horse in the present moment.

Susanne E. Schwaiger, born 1962 in Augsburg, Germany, is a dedicated personal trainer and teacher. She successfully combines her work as a personal trainer with her experience of many years with horses. In 1997 she completed her studies as a personal trainer and established the Pegasus-Project®, which offers open workshops and an education program for “Horse-Assisted Self-Development Trainers”.  Her books were welcomed with enthusiasm by horsepeople, trainers, and therapists throughout Germany.

How We Learn, How Horses Teach (338 KB)

David Harris, England
"How We Learn, How Horses Teach"

In his presentation David shares his view on why Equine Assisted Learning is so powerful, why it is so important and particularly now.

He discusses Limbic learning, why we learn more in the first twelve years than the rest of our life and why horses help us to engage in our most effective form of learning. He examines the difference between gaining knowledge and learning.

David Harris is an Executive Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Natural Horseman. He lives n Windsor,  England, with his wife, two children and three horses. He is passionate about people and their amazing potential. He is the founder of Acorns2Oaks (A2O). The vision of A2O is for its clients to inexperience “Success on Your Terms”.

David was involved in IT for 25 years in a career that took him from a Programmer all the way up to Managing Director of a £24million organisation.  Yet despite his apparent success, he realised that he no longer felt fulfilled.  As a result of some personal development work he turned his back on the corporate world and now works full time as an Executive coach specialising in leadership.

David has a passion for horses. Thanks to his work in NLP he realised that he felt uncomfortable with the traditional way of working with horses. This insight started his journey of discovery for a better way to be with horses. Through modelling many outstanding horsemen David began to understand and work with horses at a new level.

In 2003 A2O held their first “Equine Guided Leadership Program”, working with people to realise the leader in them. In 2005 A2O ran 12 workshops and enjoyed working with 150 course participants.
